Lady Panthers claim third straight WCLL Championship

The Pitt Women's Lacrosse team claimed their third WCLL Championship in a row with a 21-14 victory over Minnesota in the championship game of the WCLL Regional tournament.

  Pitt received a bye in the first round and then faced Miami(OH) in the semifinals. Led by 8 different goal scorers and a stingy defense Pitt defeated Miami(OH) by the score of 14-6.



In the finals Pitt met Minnesota for the second time this season, after a narrow one goal victory during the regular season, Pitt knew they were in for a battle.

 After leading 10-7 at halftime, Pitt pulled away in the second half to claim a 21-14 victory. Pitt was led by Allison Hawkins and Lia Winter who combined for 10 goals giving Pitt their third consecutive WCLL Championship

Next up for the Lady Panthers is an invitation to the WCLA National Championships as Pitt looks to defend its 2014 National Championship
