Pittsburgh, PA: The #8 ranked Lady Panthers opened there 2014 season with two victories over St Francis and Slippery Rock, In the first game Pitt and St Francis went toe to toe for most of the game with Pitt leading 7-5 at halftime and ultimately held on for a 9-8 victory in the first scrimmage of the day.

  Pitt was led by juniors Brigit Knaus, Anna Studenmund and Freshmen Lia Winter, who all had two goals, while the defense held St Francis to 8 goals and senior Katy Sullivan recorded 10 saves

   In the second game Pitt jumped out to a 5-2 halftime lead and held on again for a 8-6 victory. Pitt was led by Senior Kellyn Warren with three goals,and then got balanced scoring from five other players. Again the defense stood out holding Slippery Rock to 6 goals as Katy Sullivan and Junior Larissa Bohn, making her first appearance in a Panther uniform held Slippery Rock to only 6 goals

   Pitt will take the field again Sunday Feb. 9th @ 1:00PM vs Marymount(VA), led by Pitt Alum Jamie Reynolds and IUP at 3:00PM to finish off there exhibition season before heading to California on Feb. 12th
